Braided updo with swirls

I decided to do another updo on A because it has been pretty humid out and nobody likes hair stuck to their neck. The only request that she had was for me to leave the one braid hanging down. She says that the top has "swirls" in it kind of like flowers. lol When I was about to pin it up I pulled it into a bun and it looked super cute too so this is a multi purpose style!

A review: Ouidad

I'm constantly in search for a good shampoo, conditioner and leave in that'll work for my son's hair. I don't style his hair very often because it's still growing back out so that usually results in a scary looking shrunken fro of a mess. I've heard lots of good things about Ouidad so I hoped it could do good things for us as well.

My husband is actually the one who washed Man's hair and I heard him yell from the bathroom "This stuff smells real good!" He ended up washing his own hair with it and he said that it felt a lot softer.

This was his hair before the wash. I hadn't touched his hair since Easter Sunday so that made almost an entire week.. it was looking a mess! lol

After the wash and applying the leave in conditioner but not yet brushed. Already you can see his curls are coming back to life.

And here is after brushing his hair. First of all I need to state that the brush slide right through his hair incredibly easy. So easy in fact that it cut down our normal detangling session to a 1/4 of our normal time!

I absolutely love this stuff! So far I see no cons at all!

Have y'all tried any of the Ouidad products? If not, I'd definitely recommend the shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner!

April Hair Carnival: Copy-cat Style

This month we joined forces with a few other awesome bloggers for the April Hair Carnival in which we were assigned a blogger and had to choose a style to copy. I was beyond excited when I found out my blogger was Aisha of Braid With Me. It was very tough for me to narrow it down to just 1 style because all of her styles are FABULOUS! I'm happy with the style I choose to copy and I hope our version does it justice because it's a beautiful style.

Here's the original:
BEAUTIFUL, right?!

As soon as we left the house she got a compliment and she kept smiling every time she'd see her reflection. Winner in my book! What's even better is I think this is a style that would look great on teens and adults too.

Be sure to check out the other great copy cat styles done by the other bloggers.

how to remove braids in record breaking time

Hey y'all! After discussing with a few ladies how we take down mini braids I thought I'd make a quick video demonstrating it. Hope this can help quicken your take down process!

A review: Nael Coce

I love, love, love me some nice shoes. Shoes are my weakness. I don't care how painful they are, I will suffer for their beauty. lol When I first heard of the new line of convertible shoes by Nael Coce I knew I wanted to try them. Not only are these heels fabulous on their own, they have a hidden pair of flats in them for when your feet are really killing you!

At $70 for the black platform pumps, they're a steal. It's 2 shoes in one and they are both comfortable on their own and can definitely be worn independently. Another great thing about the shoes is they are made from eco-friendly materials so you're doing the planet some justice all the while looking fabulous!

I normally wear a size 7 in all my shoes but I could have probably used a size 7.5 for an even better fit when wearing the flat inserted in the heel.

The green bottoms, fancy right?! I like these shoes a lot but I like even more that this is a company ran by a woman with a true desire to make comfortable, high quality foot wear. In my mission this year to become a better me on the inside and out, they're a great addition to my wardrobe!

A review: Too Faced Natural Kiss lip color

When I received my package from Too Faced and saw the Natural Kiss lip color collection I felt a little lost. I'm not one for wearing any type of lip sticks, I usually just stick to lip balms and glosses. Nevertheless, the colors looked pretty and I was excited to see how the different colors would look on me.

It came packaged in this fun pink paper scraps, it made me think of spring instantly!

As you can see, color number 1 is barely visible on the lightest part of my hand. I attempted a pretty heavy swatch of each color just so you could get an idea of the coloring.

Overall, I like all 4 of the colors. The glittery one (number 1) is great to layer with the other colors. It's pretty light weight so topping it with a gloss won't make your lips feel all gooey, thick, and gross. In all these pictures I'm wearing it without gloss and it still has a soft and nice shine.

It's a pretty convenient little set. It's small enough to throw into your purse and it has a great sized mirror so you can see when you're applying it. The shades really are more natural and they complemented the natural shade of my lips nicely. I think it's great for everyday wear and great if you're more of a newbie at wearing lipsticks!
